Three Useful Tips For Ranking Well In the SERPs

Many people would like to find out “How does one achieve better results in the SERPs?”.  Well I have three helpful tips that are “must do’s”

Number One: Keyword Research

Very Important! Way too many people try and get their sites to rank from just one word such as “trains”. Doing this is just far too difficult and I quite frankly it is a waste of time.

Aiming for multiple keyword phrases almost always work a lot better. For example, using multiple keyword search phrases such as “passenger trains” or even better, “modern passenger trains” will always convert way better than the single word search terms. You will rank easier as well!

Also check the number of page results in google for the search term and if it is over 25000 pages then it usually means it will be very hard to rank highly so I would recommend you continue to look for a better phrase.

Number Two: Keyword Location

Use your keyword phrase in your content. Put it in your first paragraph, even your first sentence. Put it in your last sentence too. As a general rule 2-3% of your content should contain your keyword phrase.

Put it in your meta tags too, your meta description, meta title and meta keywords.

But never over use it as stuffing your page with the keyword will get you penalized by google…stick to about 2-3% and you will be fine.

Number Three: The Length Of your Article or Content

Each article or page should contain between 300-400 words. Search engines like quality lengthy content. So even tho you can still get a good rank with less, as a general rule stick to around 350 as that seems to be the optimum number to score well in google.

There we have it! Three little tricks that are “must do’s” for getting a good position in the SERPs! One more tip is to always target just one keyword phrase for each page or article. Trying to kill two birds with one stone just lessons the effect of your target. It is better to make a new post for another keyword phrase.
